Hey FunLifers,
We’re back.
Season 2 of the 'Pursuit of Balance' is officially here, and I want to kick it off by sharing something a little deeper—what’s been on my mind lately, where I see things going, and why this season means so much more than just better cameras and audio.
At the core of it all—this show, our gym, and everything I do—the mission has always been the same: helping people live better and feel happier.
I know I talk a lot about fitness and health, but for me, it’s never just been about the workouts. It’s about creating real change through mindset, structure, community, and support. And more importantly—it’s about giving you tools you can apply.
Because education is useless without execution.
You can listen to podcasts, read books, scroll through great ideas all day long—but if nothing changes in your actions, nothing changes in your life.
So my goal through this show is simple:
To give you actionable, real-world, sustainable ideas that help you grow—physically, mentally, emotionally—and ultimately help you build a life that feels more whole.
The Vision Moving Forward
I’ve been thinking a lot about where this could go. I even told my wife Nikki the other day—maybe this becomes something more one day. Maybe I travel and interview people around the world. Maybe it becomes its own platform or even its own brand.
But for now, the mission is clear:
Keep helping the people right in front of me—our clients, our team, our friends and family, and everyone who takes time to listen or follow along.
This community is everything to me. I don’t take it lightly that you’re here. So my hope is that the knowledge we share together not only inspires you—but transforms you.
The Gym: Honest Growth Over Expansion
On the business side, Functional Lifestyles has grown a lot. We’ve got 700+ clients, over 20 team members, and recently expanded our Palo Alto location—2.5x the space and 3x the rent.
It’s a lot.
When I first opened, I had visions of 3–5 locations. But over time, I’ve realized that bigger isn’t always better.
I’ve come to appreciate brands like In-N-Out, not just because of their success, but because of their relentless commitment to quality and consistency. That’s what I want to model—intentional, vertically integrated growth that never compromises who we are or what we stand for.
What’s Next (And Why It Matters)
Right now, our biggest opportunity isn’t expanding locations—it’s developing our team. I want to take every coach and team member through our internal education process and raise the bar—so we can deliver the highest level of service and results possible.
Because coaching isn’t just about programs and reps.
It’s about how you connect with people. How you make them feel.
It’s about creating both customer experience and customer success—at the same time.
That’s the type of business I want to build.
That’s the type of culture I want to lead.
That’s the type of impact I want to have.
And on a personal note, 2025 is a big year for me and Nikki—we’re starting a family. So all of this becomes even more meaningful. I want to create something that lasts. Something that serves not only our clients, but our kids someday, too.
Thanks for Being Here
So here we are—Season 2.
Better visuals. Better audio. Same mission.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with me. I hope this season gives you even more clarity, motivation, and practical tools to help you live with more energy, more presence, and more purpose.
Let’s keep pursuing that balance—together.Follow along with reading the newsletter, watching the YouTube video or listening on your favorite podcast platform for audio only!
See you next week,
Corey
